This World AIDS Day 2017, the Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation (Cape Town, South Africa) has partnered with Butler’s Pizza (website here) for World AIDS Day 2017.
For the week around World AIDS Day (27 November – 3 rd December), anyone in the Cape Town Butler’s Pizza delivery zone can phone Butler’s Pizza and have the option to donate to the Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation. The pizza order will arrive with a free AIDS ribbon key ring to thank you for your support to end HIV/AIDS.
This World AIDS Day 2017, the theme is Let’s End It. End isolation, End stigma and End transmission. South Africa has begun rolling out PrEP, the HIV prevention drug, in certain places around the country, including universities. Let’s continue to grow this success until it reaches everyone all across South Africa.
The Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation is committed to ending HIV. We are leaders in research seeking an HIV vaccine and a toolbox of HIV prevention solutions. Alongside research, the Foundation runs community-based programs such as a fleet of four mobile clinics, a Youth Centre in Masiphumelele, and healthcare training programs engaging thousands of young women who are taught empowerment techniques to enable them to make positive choices.
We thank the team at Butler’s Pizza for helping us raise awareness of World AIDS Day and giving us the opportunity to spread the message, LetsEndIt.
Let’sEnd the suffering around this disease – have a pizza party this week, support the campaign and bring us closer to ending a disease that affects, directly or indirectly, the lives of all South Africans.
