The DTHF would like to express our regret and sadness at the news of the passing of Dr. Charles Boucher, an esteemed virologist, and pioneer in the early study of HIV drug resistance. Within the scientific community, Dr. Boucher was unparalleled in his commitment to moving HIV research and medicine forward and paved the way for the biggest breakthroughs in the fight against HIV over the decades.
“Charles will be sorely missed, by his loved ones and colleagues. He collaborated and pushed boundaries to ensure that scientific innovation would improve the daily lives of those living with HIV, and his work has directly contributed to the effective treatment of HIV that we see today….” – Prof. Linda-Gail Bekker
We send our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
