The annual tea party given by the staff in the IIDMM cafeteria will be on Friday 29th November at 10am. Watch out for the DTHF AIDS awareness stunt to highlight this special day.
Youth Centre, Masiphumelele:
Iziko Museum is collaborating with the DTHF Youth Centre to produce a Youth Concert on Saturday 30th November in the amphitheatre of the Museum in the Gardens. Youth from Masiphumelele will be given a free Planetarium show followed by the concert of music, drama and poetry at 12h00 for an hour. This concert will be a winner, come and support our youth, bring your families and tell your friends. The youth are getting the message out about HIV. Show them that we are proud of them. Tutu Tester mobile unit:
Discovery Health have invited the Tutu Tester to provide testing services at their Sports Heroes event in Mitchell’s Plain on 30th November and Khayelitsha Sports Ground on 1st December. The events highlight World AIDS Day and several local organisations will be offering health services. Atomo, a company that manufactures self-test kits, is sponsoring the team and the Tutu Tester for these events. It will be wonderful to see the Tutu Tester on the road again in the new year.
Emavundleni Research Centre, Old Cross Roads:
The staff at Emavundleni, Cross Roads have an extensive programme where they will collaborate with other organisations in the area in a variety of events commemorating World AIDS Day over several days. There is strength in working together, more people can be reached and it is an opportunity to build realationships.
Desmond and Leah Tutu Research Centre, Masiphumelele:
World AIDS Day celebrations will begin at 10:00 with a march down Pokela Road to the Masi Community Hall were the programme will go through the day until 15:00. An invitation has been extended to businesses and service providers in the valley to participate and advertise their services and show support for the community.
